It’s hockey night in Chitown at last! Join us as we grab dinner and drinks at West End Bar & Grill before heading to Chicago’s first home game versus the Colorado Avalanche. West End is a few blocks away from the United Center, but they do provide a shuttle service to the arena an hour before puck drop, so there’s plenty of time to head over there right after. (Plus, the bar fills up fast right before games, so we want to be there nice and early to get good seats.)

Those not attending the game in person are welcome to join too– West End usually televises games so it’s as good a place as any to watch!

UPDATE: Because the Blackhawks are planning to host a red-carpet event, we’re adjusting tweetup details as follows:

At 4:45pm, we’ll be meeting across the street from United Center Gate 3, by the Blackhawks Legends sculpture. We’ll then watch the red carpet roll out for the Blackhawks, but if that’s not your thing or you miss us in the crowd, come meet us in West End at 5:45pm for pre-game dinner and drinks!

(Note: They do allow minors in the bar, but only until 8pm.)

Chicago Blackhawks Convention NHLtweetup (even if you don’t have tickets!):

Hey there Blackhawks fans craving hockey in the summer months!  If this is your first Blackhawks Convention, prepare to see thousands of Chicagoans wearing Blackhawks jerseys even in the scorching heat!

As Twitter has grown in the NHL fan world, I thought it’d be a great idea to gather up Blackhawks fans at the Convention!

We’ll be headed to Lakeside Green Lounge at 720 S Michigan Ave, Chicago after the first night of the convention for a few drinks.  That’d be July 17th around 9pm!

Hey Red Wings fans in Chicago! Looking for a Detroit-friendly bar to watch game one of the playoffs on Thursday, April 16?

Meetup with your fellow displaced Wingnuts at Chicago’s Avenue Tavern, which may as well be called the Woodward Avenue Tavern given the owner’s fierce loyalty to all things Detroit.  The game will be broadcast in HD on 10 LCD TVs throughout the bar, with sound. It’ll be like JoeVision in Chicago!
