San Jose Tweet-Up: Important Updates!

We’re on such a high! The cities who hosted their NHL Tweet-Ups last night experienced great success. We’re hoping — and working hard toward — a great party on Sunday in San Jose. You are coming, right? A few important updates:

New Sponsor:
Joseph George Winery will join Comcast SportsNet and the NHL as sponsors for this event. The winery is kindly providing limited edition Sharks wine to give away. No, not wine made of Sharks! But a label with San Jose Sharks etching and a lanyard with a collectible card. Joseph George Winery has been working with the NHL on official wines for league teams since the 1993-1994 season. This will be quite the prize. Big thanks to Kristin Pugh for securing this sponsor!

New Location:
We’ve moved the party to the Firehouse Grill at 69 N. San Pedro in downtown San Jose. We’re really grateful to the friendly and accommodating management staff for having us! Let’s do them proud and buy lots of drinks.

RSPVs Required:
We need to know how many folks are coming so we can give the nice folks at Firehouse a heads up. So now, the ONLY way to potentially win the autographed Marleau, Roenick and Nabby stuff from the NHL is to RSVP ahead of time. You can do this in one of two ways:

Hey San Jose! We know you’ve waited patiently and we are grateful. Now that the playoff schedule is up we’ve chosen a date for our party. Our San Jose NHL Tweet-Up will be on Sunday, April 19!

We originally planned on having the party for the first Sharks away game but we wanted to keep this as close to the other NHL satellite parties as possible. We think we’ll get a great turnout — and this way we can even include some folks who are grabbing some dinner prior to the game. Details:

When: Sunday, April 19
Time: 5:30 p.m. ’til after the game
Where: Firehouse Grill, 69 N. San Pedro, San Jose
Who: All hockey fans… Sharks fans are a bonus!

In addition to fun and camaraderie watching the game, we’ll have some very fun giveaways throughout the night. Our list of prizes keeps growing!

Comcast SportsNet joins the San Jose Tweet-Up

We’re very happy to announced that Comcast SportsNet Bay Area — the official network of the San Jose Sharks — will co-sponsor our San Jose NHL Tweet-Up! Attendees of the tweet-up will have a chance to win one of five prize bags provided by the network, with all kinds of surprise goodies.

And, don’t forget, we’ll also be giving away commemorative pucks and some signed Sharks memorabilia from Evgeni Nabokov, Patrick Marleau and Jeremy Roenick!

We know not having a date yet is tough — and we organizers are as up in the air as you are. But we *promise* that once the playoff schedule is announced we’ll give you the date and location — and maybe details on more stuff!

San Jose Tweet-Up – Prizes Announced!

We have some very exciting prizes to hand out at upcoming San Jose NHL Tweet-Up. We know that it’s tough to wait til the last minute for a date — especially since most other cities are on 4/15 — but we appreciate your patience. We’ll have the date and location announced Monday morning!

NHL Tweetup – San Jose, baby!

San Jose may not be “Hockeytown” but we know how to support our Sharks! Let’s get together to celebrate the Sharks pending victory over the Western Conference and watch the first playoff AWAY game in style. While many other cities are planning their events in conjunction with the kickoff at the NHL Store in NYC, we’re doing things a little bit different. The San Jose NHL Tweetup time, date and venue is TBD pending the playoff schedule announcement but stay tuned here on this blog or follow @NHLtweetup (#nhltweetup) on Twitter for up-tp-date details.
