#NHLtweetup For A Cause: @Hawgs38 Hurricane Rebuild

After hurricane Irene passed, everyone had a story. Many were about how the storm was more hype than substance, others were of devastation as they lost everything to water or wind, or a combination on both.

One of our dearest hockey tweeps, @Hawgs38, falls into the latter category. She and her beloved pup barely made it out with a bag of essentials before the river behind her house rose to a catastrophic level and swept through her home.

If you’ve had any interaction with her in person or online, hearing this probably makes you want to give her a big hug and buy her a drink. We can make that happen. Sort of. We’re spread all over the world so an actual “IRL” NHLtweetup isn’t possible but we can have a virtual NHLtweetup. Go ahead and buy her a virtual drink by making a donation to help her get back on her feet. Insurance and other assistance aside, she needs immediate help.

A PayPal fund has been set up for her linked to the widget below. Whether you want to “buy her a beer” or a nice bottle of wine is up to you. Every little bit helps.

Thanks to an amazing generous online friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, all donations up to $1,000 will be MATCHED dollar for dollar.

If you have a blog or a website and would like to help spread the word, please feel free to grab the widget code and place it on your site and link back to this post for full info.
