#NHLtweetup’ing for a Cause – Long Island

Join the Hockey Tweeps at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 24th at The Main Event in Plainview.

What started as an NHLtweetup for all the hockey tweeps to gather and celebrate the arrival of @MCARTER82, a Sens fan from London, England, to the tri-state area, has quickly turned into something much bigger.

While we will still be celebrating his visit on the eve of the Sens vs Devils game, this tweetup has turned into something bigger because of a wager between @dani3boyz and @speakofthedevs. With the help of @MCARTER82, it was decided what the wager would be and that the outcome of this friendly wager would take place at this NHLtweetup. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on who you ask), the Devils won and after a few ideas were discussed, the idea for a fundraiser for Hockey Fights Cancer was born. Raffle tickets can be purchased through the Chip In site until 5:00 pm the night of the NHLtweetup but can also be purchased at the event itself. Checks made out to “Hockey Fights Cancer” are preferred but cash will be accepted.

So, join all the fantastic hockey tweeps for food, drinks and what will certainly be a night of some interesting photos and some stories from the other side of the pond!

The Main Event is family friendly so if you have little ones that can party like the big ones, feel free to bring them! Twtvite has now been updated so that it will accept RSVPs from those that don’t have Twitter accounts. Be sure to RSVP for everyone that will be joining us to make sure we have enough space.

The owner of The Main Event was nice enough to extend the “Game Time Special” to our group which includes $3.00 domestic pints and savings off select appetizers.
