#NHLtweetup – Pittsburgh July 24th
Our good friend, @Ozman51, a Pens blogger living in Oklahoma, is coming into town and wants to get together for a Tweetup on Friday, July 24th.
Sounds like a good reason as any to get together.
Originally I thought about doing a Pens Stanley Cup DVD watching party, but really, is there anyone left who HASN’T seen it? So my thought is, let’s get together and actually have a chance to talk to and get to know the people we “talk” to everyday. Plus, maybe even make some new friends.
Hofbrauhaus is the new German restaurant in SouthSide Works. Yes, they serve beer, but it is also a restaurant so don’t worry if you aren’t over 21 or if you would just rather not hang out in a bar.
If you haven’t been there, this will be a great chance to check the place out. Huge space inside. Awesome double-deck patio out back on the river.
So come hang out with some of your “Tweeps” and maybe make some new friends.

Um, so will people actually be “talking” or will people pretend to talk and instead just hide behind their i-phones? Every tweet-up I have been to has been more about i-phones and documenting the moment than actually getting to know the people that you’re seeing F2F IRL.

I’ve not heard of a tweetup happening that way. Which #NHLtweetup did you go to?

That is one of the reasons I choose to have it at HBH. Less distractions than when there is a game on and lots of people trying to tweet about it. I am hoping to actually get a chance to talk to people in a relaxed atmosphere.
